Title: The Goodbye Girl (Red Market, #2)
Authors: Mary E. Palmerin and A. Giannoccaro
Publication Date: April 18, 2016
The Red Market is where every pound of flesh has a price tag tacked onto it. It is a place where money can buy you everything, even a heart.
Caesar has fallen and a new boss, Mateo, has risen; but he has lost his Lettie Doll and he doesn’t know where to find her. She stole his soul and now he must find someone to replace her. Just like her love, his new power is an illusion. The real force behind the Red Market is about to show her cards and no one wants to play her game.
Mateo and Lettie will both have to fight to find their love, but sometimes it is only found in death. You cannot go through life unnoticed by demise when you play with it every day. Sooner or later, it catches up with you and you lose.

I am unreasonable. I used to be the quiet girl who listened and took what she thought she deserved, but
as the pieces of time come back together like a painful puzzle, I am shriveling down to nothing except the splinters of love and psychosis of my mind. I am totally unhinged, yet through this cacophony of chaos, I am strangely finding myself.
-Svetlana, The Goodbye Girl
This one was started right where the first book left off and never missed a beat! This book was almost as crazy as the first one. This one had more horrors and the characters felt at war with themselves because of the life they each lead. I did cry for the loss in this book with each character because each one does lose something that made their life so horrible and they just can’t seem to think they deserve love.
My heart hurt for all these characters. Lettie because she never knew what love was and she thinks she can find happiness but the horrors just seem to find her right when she is starting to actually think she will be ok. This girl has been through the wringer in the first book and it doesn’t stop in this one. Being in love with two guys who have problems that no one should ever have to try and overcome. Mateo , who has let power control him and without Lettie, he is so lost. Caesar because he loves Lettie but shouldn’t but can’t stop. I felt their pain all through both books.
I have never read such a tale of horror and bad luck but I enjoyed reading every single minute of it and hope to read more from these very talented authors!
