Raine Kendall has everything a woman could want…almost. Sexy, tender Dom Liam O’Neill is her knight in shining armor, but Raine keeps pinching herself. Is he too good to be true or is this growing connection one that could last a lifetime? She’s constantly torn by her abiding feelings for her commanding boss, Macen “Hammer” Hammerman, especially in the wake of the mind-blowing night he cast aside the barriers between them and ravaged every inch of her body. Hammer, Liam’s former best friend, can’t stop coveting Raine. But Liam is determined to hold and guide the woman he loves and see if she can be the submissive of his dreams. However, he’s finding that her trust is hard won and he needs a bloody crowbar to pry open her scarred soul. So he risks everything to win her once and for all. But once he’s put his daring plan in motion, will it cost Liam his heart if he loses Raine to Hammer for good?

OMG OMG If you haven’t read the first book of this series, you will be lost reading this review. The second book took right off from where the first book left off. I have tears in my eyes from reading this book because this book moved me even more than the first one.
Raine was collared to Liam when the first book ended while Macen (Hammer) watched from the shadows. Hammer loved Raine from the first night he took her in when he found her behind his garbage bin outside. For six years, he loved her from afar because he couldn’t risk making her life hell and he wasn’t good for her anyhow, or at least that’s what he had told himself all those years. Raine is still a strong woman in this story and her only fault if you can call it a fault, would be that she can’t communicate worth anything. When something scares her, instead of telling how she feels, she would rather run away and hide behind the walls she built up from the horrid childhood she had. She didn’t have anyone except her father. Her father who beat her within an inch of her life, tried to rape her and kept telling her she was worthless, a little whore and anything else to make her feel as low as low could be. She grew up thinking she wasn’t worthy of true love and when Hammer wouldn’t even notice she was grown up and not a child, everything her father said came rushing back to her. She was with Liam but couldn’t give herself completely to him because if she was honest with him, he would leave her and she couldn’t risk hurting him, so she gave only parts of herself to him. She loved both Hammer and Liam but if she couldn’t have both, then one would do for now.
Hammer was totally shocked and ticked off when he seen Liam collar Raine. Raine was HIS not Liams even if Hammer never told Raine how he felt. Hammer didn’t want a repeat of Juliet, so he thought it was better to stay away from Raine and not let her see the real feelings Hammer had for her. Too bad when you plan something like that, something else usually messes up the first plan. Because of the ceremony between Liam and Raine, that hurt Hammer so very much but it was his own fault but he blamed everything on Liam. Hammer wanted Raine so very much for himself, he even seen himself having a family with her. He never thought he would be a father to anyone but with Raine it was so different.
Liam loved Raine also. He knew even though Raine was collared to him, he didn’t have her fully. She didn’t communicate to him and he just couldn’t have only half of her. So he uncollared her because he wanted to give her time to see that he really did love her and until she could be completely honest with him and herself, she couldn’t be his fully. Uncollaring Raine, made her to do what she always did–RUN. Liam uncollared her which to her meant she wasn’t worthy of him. She wasn’t worthy of Hammer. She didn’t want to stay where she wasn’t wanted. Oh how wrong she was. When two strong dominate men want something they get it. Both Liam and Hammer realized they both loved her and wasn’t a complete person without her. They won’t give up until they find her.
This story hit me hard. Communication isn’t something I can do hardly at all. Like Raine, my first instinct  is to run and close myself up so no one can hurt me and I can’t hurt anyone. When Hammer and Liam finally realize that Raine needs both of them and they need her, they finally work together to prove that too her. Reading how they striped Raine of all her walls and dug into her past and made her face her fears, made me cry because I know how hard it was for all three of them to do open up completely. Hammer and Liam heard some very hard truths and yes jealously shows it’s head but they get that out of their system, so they can concentrate on Raine. The raw emotion that I felt while reading what these three were willing to do to complete each other was so raw and touching, it really made my heart swell.
Please read this series. There is humor and drama and yes hot sex but mainly it shows exactly how if you do love someone (in this case more than just one person) that each have to put forth the effort and be prepared to handle what comes out while everyone is telling their truths. I could feel the love between all of them. I felt Raine being pulled between loving Hammer and Liam seperately or hopefully bringing them together to love her together. This is such a sweet, wonderful story. I can relate so much with all three characters. I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series. This one left me hanging again and I hate waiting for things. Read this book and hopefully you will feel what I felt while Raine and Hammer and Liam all try to be there for each other with the good and the bad, and to learn that love isn’t the only thing you need in a relationship but it is a big part of it.
