Barb Gives this

Meg first saw Theo at his Welcome Home Party that her friends Elle and Jake were throwing him. Theo was an Army Medic and he lost part of his leg and had scars all over his body and he was lucky to be alive. Theo had secrets that he kept close but Meg also had a secret that she was trying to hide. Meg was pregnant and she didn’t want anyone to know except Elle because Elle being her best friend and Elle was pregnant also.

I loved this book because there are so many twist and turns, you just don’t know what is going to happen next. I related to Meg quite a bit. She is bound and determined to do this pregnancy on her own without any help. She has family but she figures she doesn’t need anyone. All this baby needs is her. While reading this story, it brought back the memories of my first pregnancy. Trying to hide the little bump knowing sooner or later hiding that bump wasn’t going to be able to be done anymore. With what Meg went through in this story had me crying right along with her. Trying to be strong all the time isn’t easy and sooner or later something is going to give and that brick wall you have built will have one brick loose and the whole thing will come tumbling down.

Theo and Meg’s relationship is heartwarming but with a little chill along with it. I adore Theo. He so wants to love Meg but not be a burden to her. He needs to deal with his demons before he can help Meg deal with hers. There were times I wanted to smack both their heads together and say WISE UP! The more and more the story went on, the more I fell in love with Meg and Theo. They both made me cry, laugh and smile.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would without a doubt. This book deserves much higher than a 5. But that is just my opinion. Grab a copy and read this story. I couldn’t put it down and was a little sad when it ended. Claire Ashby is one talented writer! I am a fan for life.
