On the run for her life, Toni finds safety with the mysterious Oh-Mah people living deep in the Carolina Mountains. Direct descendants from a legendary creature, they are more human than beast. With the exception of being big and tall, they no longer carry any of the original Bigfoot hairy, monstrous traits. Yet they prefer the simple, uncomplicated life their beastly ancestors lived. They remain far away from civilization, feeding the surrounding small, town locals with rare sightings that keep the myth alive.

Captured by their rugged leader, Cormac, Toni must undergo an ancient mating ritual in order not to be claimed and mated by any of the other males. Once Cormac mates with her in a public ceremony, she will be off limits to everyone but him, something Toni is grateful for. She gradually falls for the powerful leader, willingly giving in to his ravenous demands for sex. He vows to protect and love her, but can she give up her old life to live with him in the mountains?

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this book. I was pleasantly surprised.

Toni just got done being a juror for six-weeks for a murder case and they found the guy guilty and when he was taken from the court room, he threatened he would get even and kill every one of them. Yeah right, he was behind bars, he couldn’t do much harm. So she decided to take a mini vacation to her friends cabin in the woods. It was so far in the woods that she even got lost trying to find it. It was so peaceful and she could just relax and listen to all that nature had to offer. She was in heaven. Until she got the phone call saying that the one of the juror’s was found dead and she needed to stay where she was until the police came to get her. While waiting  she decided to take a swim and nude for that matter. She was alone so no one would see her.  She spots two guys who she can hear them say they are there to kill her, so she swims as fast as she can till she had to get out. Now she is not only running for her life but she is naked to boot. Running in the woods isn’t really that great when you are naked and branches are hitting you everywhere!  This is where she meets Cormac and he is very tall and he becomes her protector.

Cormac is the leader if the Oh-Mah people which is otherwise known as Bigfoot. They look more human than animal like but they have animalistic behaviors. They are very sexual beings and have sex whenever and wherever the mood hits them. It doesn’t matter who is watching. Toni starts having feelings for Cormac. Their relationship is so interesting. Here you have a girl who thought the legend of Bigfoot was just that, a legend. She wants to go home but Cormac says she is his and will never leave.

I liked the way Toni really didn’t back away from the challenges that she comes upon. She is tough and she starts to feel that the Oh-Mah people are very gentle and always look out for each other. My only problems was that Toni has a life that she is taken from and makes me wonder why she can’t talk Cormac into understanding that she needs to tell someone she is alive. Her best friend is going to think she is dead and she will never have closure. I just think somewhere Toni should’ve been able to find some way to get word back saying she was happy and don’t worry about her.

This is a very good book to read. I can’t wait to read more from this author. If I could be taken away from someone like Cormac who treated me like a special person and made me crave sex like he did Toni, I would love to go with him just to see what it was like. Grab a copy, sit back and enjoy the journey you are about to take.
