Eve Carlisle had a singular purpose - sell the rustic house nestled in the Colorado ski resort town. Tortured by her husband's betrayal, the beautiful divorcee refused to give her heart to another man. But Jake had been a happy surprise, with his mesmerizing blue eyes, warm smile, strong but gentle nature - as well as being incredibly sexy. She had convinced herself the relationship with Jake was nothing more than a fling. After all, she had a life in Newport, with society friends and a lucrative career as a family court judge. Still, Jake had a definitive hold over her, and she was finding it hard to think clearly where he was concerned. The demons of prior failed marriages haunt them both, and threaten to end things just as they are beginning. When Jake tells Eve he is falling in love with her, Eve refuses to believe it can last. Returning to Newport, the hollowness of her existence exposed, she must confront her fears before she loses Jake forever.

Anne L. Parks has done it again. She’s made my heart melt, break, and swoon. She’s made my emotions run wild just at the hands of another book. I didn’t think it was possible to love this book more than her other books, but I must admit I really do.

We follow Eve Carlisle, a divorced mother of two daughters. She is strong and independent but damaged all the same by the affair of her husband and his secretary and their divorce that followed it, six years ago. Her oldest daughter now lives in England and her youngest decided to spend Christmas with her father and new wife.

Eve is trying to put her past behind her by selling their old vacation home in Colorado that the family used to spend every Christmas together in. Eve was dreading spending Christmas alone and in a house that caused so many broken memories to surface. That is until she met Jake…

Jake, the local fire chief, found Eve stranded on the side of the road in a car that wouldn’t start after swerving off the road and into a snowbank. There were sparks between them from the first meeting that just didn’t go away. Jake is funny, sarcastic, sweet, warm, caring and definitely sexy. He himself was divorced simply from a marriage that just wasn’t working, and he as well as a young daughter who lives primarily with her mother.

Together they fell mercilessly into a beautiful love, despite Eve’s time in Colorado being limited by a small amount of three weeks. After those weeks pass, Eve is stubborn and scared to take such a big leap of faith into the hands of love as she has convinced herself that their relationship will never continue to work. She insists going back to her home in Rhode Island, back to her house and her job and her supposed ‘friends,’ despite Jake and her oldest daughters protests and attempts to get her to stay.  She’s too scared to think it could ever work.

By the end of this book, my heart and my feelings were exhausted, which let me tell you, is a good thing! A.L. Park’s made the characters so real and so amazing, every word that was wrote sunk into my heart and forced me to make room for it. And this is why I love her writing, her stories, her characters and also why I will continue to love them as much as I do now, if not even more. I am excited for the next book, and can’t wait to dive into it as I did this one. This book didn’t end in a cliffhanger as the other ones by her I have read, and even though it didn’t it still left me wanting more. I recommend picking up this book and reading it and maybe re-reading it and then re-reading it and…  Well, you get the point. 😉

Recovering from a gunshot wound that nearly killed her, Kylie is tormented by her ex-boyfriend’s final words—to have her forever, even if it means she must die.
Desperate to regain her life, Kylie’s world is turned upside down when she discovers Alex betrayed her. The life she dreamed of now uncertain, she slips further into madness, convinced she is being stalked by John’s ghost.
Kylie fights to regain control of her life and salvage her relationship with Alex. Fearing she will never escape her ex-boyfriend’s revenge, she devises a plan to destroy her demon—at any cost.

This is book two in the “Tri-Stone Trilogy.” I loved the first book “Of Demons & Stones,” the story captivated me from the first page and had me wanting more at the end. Revenge had the same effect on me, I didn’t want to put the book down and when I had to my mind was always flipping back to wondering what would happen next in the book.

This second book follows Kylie as she’s recovering from an almost fatal incident that had us hanging at the end of the first book, and she’s experiencing a lot of mental problems, things such as paranoia and panic attacks and to find that Alex is pulling away from her for an unknown reason and she can’t figure out what to do. Alex finally opens up to her and for a while things seem to be going well. But then Kylie finds out that Alex had been lying to her about something big, and it all seems to fall apart again. I can feel all of Kylie’s emotions from Alex’s betrayal and she wasn’t the only one doubting his trust afterwards.  While she works on forgiving Alex so they can both be okay again, she’s working on one of the biggest cases she’s ever had to work on, involving the guiltiness of Alex’s murderous father. An emotional and dramatic trial for most involved, including myself, the reader. At the end, we’re left with another dramatic cliffhanger that has me wanting more.

Book one was amazing and book two didn’t at all disappoint and I’m very much anticipating book number three! Anne L. Parks is a wonderful author and I can’t wait to read more!

Kylie Tate is highly successful and focused on her future. No one sees the fear that consumes her, ravaged by demons from a past that left her distrustful of love.
Alex Stone is rarely denied. Not by business associates, and certainly not the women he dates and forgets. Romance is never an option. That is until beautiful, sexy, too damned independent Kylie comes into his life and frustrates the hell out of him. She sparks a desire in him to protect her from the one demon that haunts her - and threatens to destroy them both.
Pushed to her limit and unwilling to be a victim any longer, Kylie takes control of her life.
But a madman’s quest for revenge not only threatens to destroy the love she has finally found – but also her life.

Of Demons & Stones is wonderful, it sucked me in from the first page and I didn’t want to put it down. The characters were quick and witty and the writing style was great.

Alex was a, I guess you would say, a typical richie playboy. But then he met Kylie and after the first time of spending time together he was fixated, and so was Kylie. Kylie is wary of Alex’s sudden feelings of protection and care, but it didn’t take her long to accept them. (With of course the exception of her anxious thoughts.) Her wariness was because of her past, there are demons that lie there that she wasn’t sure what to do with and with a psychopath out to get her and possibly Alex, her anxieties rise. What Kylie didn’t know at first, was Alex was dealing with his own demons of past as well. While Kylie and Alex fall in love, trying to help each other heal from the past so they can both move forward together, it might soon be ruined at a fatal expense.

It was truly a wonderful read, and I recommend picking it up and reading it yourself. I don’t normally enjoy many books with a business-like setting, but I enjoyed this book so profusely.

Ryan's Letters, the sequel to Jax Jillian's debut novel Larkin's Letters, takes readers on a journey with Ryan Boone as he struggles to completely come to terms with his wife's death. That struggle becomes even harder when Larkin's ghost comes to visit him each time he writes her a letter. But when Lux, a beautiful doctor, moves in next door and befriends Ryan, he must choose between Larkin's visits and a potential new love.

“Ryan’s letters” is the sequel to “Larkin’s Letters.” The first book left me in tears and a pain in my heart and the second definitely broke me. But it broke me in a good way, in a way, I would never wish I hadn’t experienced.

We follow Ryan as he is still trying to cope with the loss of his true love, his wife and lifelong best friend, Larkin which he lost nearly 8 months ago to her battle to leukemia. Ryan is simply drowning in his own grief and the need for Larkin and so he begins to write letters to her as she once did to him. He would burn them each night and sometimes, Larkin would visit him. With each visit Larkin paid to Ryan, she tried to help him move on. Tried to convince him it was okay to move on, it would be okay to love and it would be okay when the day came that she could no longer visit him. With each visit, I’ll tell you something, it was starting to heal him but my gosh it was breaking me to read. I grieved with Ryan, I loved with Ryan and I learned with Ryan. Through his letters and the help of Larkin, he really starts to get through his grieving and is able to start moving on with his life, including someone new in his life and learning to let them be there for him and letting himself be there for them.

Read these books! It will be worth your time and your tears because the writing is just as beautiful and magnificent as the story and the characters within it. These two books will forever remain on my favorites shelf and I will highly and happily recommend this book to my friends and anyone needing a gorgeous love story, a good cry, or both.

As Ryan Boone struggles to come to grips with not being able to keep a promise he made to his dying wife, Larkin's Letters propels readers into the mind of Ryan as he struggles with frequent visits from her ghost and a series of letters she left behind.
Ryan has worked hard to become one of Hollywood's most sought-after actors, but no matter how famous he became, he always remained loyal to his childhood best friend, Larkin James. When Larkin is diagnosed with leukemia, Ryan sacrifices his career to be by her side and in turn realizes how much he had always loved her. Throughout Larkin's sickness, Ryan promised her he would never let her die alone. But we learn that not all of our promises are always within our control.

Larkin’s Letters follows the love story between Ryan Boone and Larkin James.

We learn within the first pages easily that Larkin has passed away and has left these letters for her childhood best friend to simply cope with his grief of her death. Through these letters we are reliving her battle through cancer and her love story with Ryan, and not only are we reliving all of this, so is Ryan. Not only is it healing him, but it is also tearing him up in the process. Reading through this book knowing that there wasn’t going to be a happy ending in Larkin’s battle with Leukemia secretly killed me inside. Somewhere inside me, there was some bizarre little hope that there would be some miracle (even though there clearly wasn’t) that she was going to make it out alive and be perfectly okay! But then she wasn’t just like we all knew and that’s when I finally couldn’t hold back my tears anymore and I pretty much sobbed for the rest of the book, which I haven’t done in awhile so I applaud you so much for that. Ryan and Larkin’s love was so true, and reading of their love certainly makes you appreciate the love you have in your life, and I will never forget their love story.

I definitely recommend you go pick up this book, snuggle up somewhere with a nice cozy and comforting blanket with definitely lots of tissues (I ran out of them, haha!) because you definitely won’t regret it once you’re finished
